AFRIMMA Partners With Youtube To Honor The Best In African Music | The guardian of culture
African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) partners with YouTube Music as part of their #YouTubeBlack Voices Fund initiative to celebrate Africa’s musical talent as African music stars continue to receive resounding attention around the world whole. As a result of this new partnership, AFRIMMA, known as Africa’s largest diaspora music awards ceremony, will be broadcast live on YouTube on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 6 p.m. GMT. The ceremony promises to be an unforgettable virtual awards show and a showcase for top talent from across the continent.
Speaking about the partnership, Anderson Obiagwu, Founder of AFRIMMA, said, “We are very excited about the partnership with YouTube. Being able to use their platform to push our story of crossing borders with music further will advance our mission. The arrival of YouTube only means that more exciting times are coming for African music and together we can celebrate African music, talents and culture. AFRIMMA has truly set the standard in celebrating excellence in African music and we look forward to partnering with them for this exciting virtual event.
On the theme of “Flavors of Africa”, the event will be hosted by superstar Comedian Bovi and elegant screen goddess Tashara Parker. This year’s unique theme is inspired by the various flavors present on the continent. Like people, food and culture, music comes in different melodic flavors and this virtual ceremony will be a musical experience of the different flavors of African music.
The ceremony will feature musical performances in different flavors of Focalistic from South Africa, Sauti Sol from Kenya, Nigerian sensations Ckay, Ruger and Ladipoe as well as Mozambican stars Dj Tarico and the Yaba Buluku gang. There will also be performances by Togolese duo Toofan, Tanzanian darling Nandy, and many more.

Best Newcomer – Yawtog, Black Sherif, Kamo Mphela, Marioo, Ayra Starr, Busta 929, Ruger, and Nviiri the Storyteller.
Artist of the Year – Wizkid, El Grande Toto, Dadju, Diamond Platnumz, Fally Ipupa, Tay C, Burna Boy and Andaya Nakamura.
Crossing Borders With Music – Burna Boy, Aya Nakamura, Dave, Wizkid, Headie One, S. PRI NOIR, Tems and Dadju.
Afrimma Video of the Year – Flavor ft. Diamond Platnumz X Fally Ipupa-Berna, Tag C -LA Time, Teni-Jostle, Mzvee –The worst boss, Zuchu-Sukari, Rayvanny X INNO’S B –Kelebe, Rema-Bounce and Wizkid Fort. Terms-Gasoline.
