New Bedford Moby Dick Brewing Company Event LGBTQ Pride Month

NEW BEDFORD – Moby Dick Brewing Co. will host a special Pride Celebration Day to help close Pride Month in New Bedford with proceeds from supporting the SouthCoast LGBTQ + Network.

“Moby Dick Brewing Co. would like to recognize all of the special contributions that the LGBTQ + community makes to our region,” Michael Warren, Managing Director of Moby Dick Brewing Co. said in a press release.

On June 30, the Whaling City hot spot on the corner of Union and South Water Street will host a full-day event with a pride-themed food and drink menu developed exclusively for the event.

The profits will be used to help the SouthCoast LGBTQ + Networkmission to promote equity, diversity and inclusion in the region.

From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Moby Dick will transform its main dining room into a dance space with a club atmosphere with music provided by DJ iiiPower. The restaurant will also have artwork from South Coast LGBTQ + Network’s ‘Kaleidoscope: Art Through Your Eyes’, currently on display at Gallery X.

“Last year we were limited in what we could do because of the pandemic; this year, in partnership with The South Coast LGBTQ + Network, we are thrilled to be able to celebrate our pride in person, together, ”Warren added in the press release.

The South Coast LGBTQ + Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion on the South Coast of Massachusetts. “It’s partners like Moby Dick Brewing Co. that make the South Coast such a welcoming place for the LGBTQ + community,” says Kerry Zeida, Board Member and Marketing Director of the South Coast LGBTQ + Network.

“Thanks to their generosity, The Network can continue to provide essential support programs and services to LGBTQ + people across the South Coast,” he added in the press release.
