Vegan milk dispensers land in Stanford, Brown and Spotify offices

Vegan milk dispensers will be installed in colleges and corporate cafeterias across the United States, including Spotify, Stanford University and Brown University. Launched by New York-based startup Uproot, the new one-of-a-kind dispensers will make it easy for customers to purchase different types of plant-based milk, including varieties of oats, soybeans and peas.

Uproot, a New York-based plant-based dairy startup, is rolling out its vegan milk dispensers to universities and offices across the country. The company, which first hit the market in 2019, will offer its oat, soy and chocolate chocolate milk in one convenient dispenser, where customers can push the lever and fill their bottles, jars. or garnish their coffee cups. like your usual juice or soda dispenser.

According to Uproot, these dispensers are the first of their kind, offering several varieties of plant-based milk available in one place. They’ll be hitting corporate cafeterias starting this month, including Spotify, as well as universities like Stanford, Brown, and Villanova.

Each dispenser holds three boxes of bulk milk and can be placed on the counter next to standard milk or juice machines, giving customers additional convenient choice and making the sustainable option just as accessible. It also means less packaging waste, as customers can bring their own cups or bottles, and reduces the need to store large boxes on the part of chefs and cafeteria managers.

“We are proud to launch this product as it will advance our mission of bringing plant-based milks to more people and places, and delivering nutritious, sustainably-packaged plant-based milks,” said the startup.

Uproot’s vegan milk cartons are also served in schools and hospitals from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

“The distributor will replace retail cartons at locations that serve hundreds of pounds of plant-based milk per week. Not only does this reduce packaging waste, but it also helps bring plant-based milk into the mainstream. Our milks are now so tasty and accessible that people don’t have to think twice about choosing plant-based milk over cow’s milk.

Vegetable milk to uproot

Co-founded by Kevin Eve, who suffers from a milk allergy, and longtime whole-food vegan Jacob Conway, Uproot has been offering plant-based milks since 2019. Committed to making vegan dairy products more widely available, l he startup’s approach has been to offer its plant-based milk in vending machines in places where traditional dairy products are often served, such as cafes and canteens.

In collaboration with catering companies, the brand offers distributors for its range of non-GMO, gluten-free and 100% vegan milk alternatives. Uproot uses organic oats for its oat milk and fair trade cocoa powder in its chocolate peach milk. Before launching its new distributors, the company deployed distributors for a type of vegan milk.

It has since also launched cartons for its vegan milk, which are served in K-12 schools, hospitals and universities and available to consumers through Amazon.

While the whole herbal industry has experienced significant growth, spurred by increasing consumer awareness of health, sustainability and animal welfare, plant-based milk is one of the strongest categories in the sector. Last year, vegan milk dominated retail sales in the United States, accounting for 35% of the overall plant-based food retail market.
